Immigration Student Support Organization

    ISSO is a project based out of San Diego.  It was inspired by the high rate of California non-resident students who decide not to attend college or dropout after their first semester.  Many of these students feel that Higher Education is unattainable and choose to work instead of continue their schooling. Other students think that they have to pay out of state tuition and believe they do not qualify for financial assistance.  College becomes an unaffordable dream. What causes students to think this way? Why don't they know about programs that have been created to assist them? The answer is lack of information at school, home and in the community.  ISSO plans to change this.  With the help of private organizations and other interested parties, ISSO will transform the way California non-resident students in the San Diego County look at higher education! ISSO is an organization created not only for non-resident students but also for anyone who is involved in the immigration process and needs orientation and support. We are here to provide tools to enhance our knowledge as a community, and to give hope to those who have lost it.
